You Asked, We Delivered

At Austin Air, we listen to our customers and prioritize your needs. After many requests for a compact, portable, and personal air cleaner, we set out to create the Austin “it.” This innovative device is a direct response to your feedback, providing powerful air purification in a sleek, travel-friendly design.

Supplying Air Quality Solutions from the Start

Austin Air has always been in the business of listening. The Austin Air story begins back more than thirty years ago because the late Richard Taylor, the founder of Austin Air, was determined to assist his wife, Joyce.

Joyce had endured chronic respiratory issues throughout her life that neither medications nor dietary adjustments could alleviate. Eventually, the couple recognized that the air Joyce was inhaling was polluted.

Inspired by the technology used in premier medical institutions, Richard aimed to replicate the only environment where Joyce experienced relief – her hospital room. By utilizing a blend of True Medical-grade Certified HEPA Material and Activated Carbon, Richard crafted a filter designed to specifically address both particulate and chemical contamination. Within a week, Joyce began to enjoy uninterrupted sleep at night.

Initially, Richard constructed a few units in his home workshop. The following year, he expanded production to approximately 1,500 units in a rented space. Soon, tens of thousands of people reported relief through his design.

Today, Austin Air Systems stands as the world’s largest air cleaner manufacturing facility, proudly producing our Standard, Junior, and “it” air purifiers.
